What Is CVI?

Crisis Intervention

When violence occurs, the first few hours are critical. Our Crisis Intervention team provides immediate de-escalation and support to victims and families to prevent further trauma and retaliation.

  • 24/7 Crisis Response: We provide immediate on-scene de-escalation and support during critical incidents.
  • Hospital-Based Intervention: Meeting victims at their most vulnerable moments to break the cycle of violence before it escalates.
  • Mental Health First Aid: Our team is trained to provide immediate psychological support and resource connection for families in shock.
  • Neutral Mediation: Acting as trusted messengers to resolve conflicts between groups before they turn violent.

Youth Mentorship & Life Coaching

We believe that to stop crime, you must stop growing it. Our mentorship programs provide Detroit’s youth with the emotional intelligence, guidance, and community connections they need to thrive.

  • School-Based Mentoring: We partner with the Detroit Public School System to provide consistent, positive role models within the learning environment.
  • Justice-Involved Outreach: Our team works directly within the Wayne County Juvenile Center to support youth in transitioning back to their communities.
  • Conflict Resolution Training: Empowering young people with the tools to resolve disputes peacefully and lead by example.
  • Long-Term Life Coaching: We don't just "visit"—we build lasting relationships that help youth navigate education, employment, and personal growth.

Workforce Development: The Pathway

Economic stability is a cornerstone of peace. "The Pathway" is our signature 10-week program designed to equip young adults with the professional skills and certifications needed to secure a stable career.

  • 10-Week Intensive: A structured curriculum focused on job readiness, financial literacy, and professional etiquette.
  • Skill Certification: We help participants gain tangible certifications that make them competitive in the Detroit job market.
  • Job Placement Assistance: We don't just train; we connect our graduates with local employers committed to community growth.
  • Stipend Support: To ensure our participants can focus on their growth, we provide financial support throughout the duration of the program.

We are dedicated to building a safer, more inclusive Greater Detroit by breaking the cycle of violence before it starts.

Through youth engagement, education, and advocacy, we empower the next generation to choose peace over crime.

  • Engage: Mentoring and transforming youth within the Detroit Public School System and Wayne County Juvenile Center.
  • Resolve: Providing conflict resolution, de-escalation training, and mental health crisis assistance.
  • Advocate: Partnering with government officials to create cleaner, safer, and economically inclusive neighborhoods.
  • Prevent: Focusing on ages 9–25 because to stop crime, you must stop growing it.
